Top Six New Christmas Songs of 2016
Do you hear it? Bells are jingling. Chimes are ringing. Children are singing. Christmas is almost here.
There's nothing quite like decorating the family tree or baking Christmas cookies to the classic stylings of Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis or Ella Fitzgerald. But, before you rely on the old faithfuls, why not try a new Christmas song.
Here are six new tunes you and your family can enjoy all season long from some of Christian music's best (listed in no particular order):
Amy Grant: "To Be Together"
(from Tennessee Christmas)
Matt Maher: "Glory (Let There Be Peace)"
(from Glory)
We Are Messengers: "God With Us"
(from God With Us)
Christy Nockels: "Wrap This One Up"
(from The Thrill of Hope)
Nockels' The Thrill of Hope also features two more instant favorites, "Song in the Air" and "Amaryllis".
JJ Heller: "Christmas Is Here"
(from Unto Us)
Also, check out Heller's new song, "Unto Us". It's beautiful.
Matt Redman: "Help From Heaven" ft. Natasha Bedingfield
(from These Christmas Lights)
OK, so that one isn't a standard Christmas-y song. But, it's from Redman's new Christmas album and it's worth a listen -- for its sound and message.
Admittedly, it was difficult to pick just six new Christmas songs. So, here are three more favorites from the Christian holiday albums released in 2016.
- Lauren Daigle: "What Child Is This?"
- Bethel Music Kids: "O Holy Night"
- Michael Neale: "Forever Amen (Glory to God)"
