Lynne Spears, Sarah Palin, and 'The Love Dare'
It’s finally here -- the much talked about book from Lynne Spears, mother of pop singer Britney Spears.
Spears’ mom shares how fame forever changed her family in her new book, Through the Storm, which was released last week by Thomas Nelson. Through the Storm, says Lynne Spears, is "the story of one simple Southern woman whose family got caught in a tornado called fame, and who is still trying to sort through the debris scattered all over her life in the aftermath. It's who I am, warts and all, with some true confessions that took a long time to get up the nerve to discuss."
In her book, Lynne candidly shares about the painful failure of her marriage, the events that led to Britney’s breakdown, Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy, and how she regrets letting managers, agents, and record companies run the lives of her children. Take ‘The Love Dare’
The new movie Fireproof opens in theaters this Friday, but even before the film opens there has been growing demand for a book that is featured in the movie. The Love Dare, a book that began as a plot device in the film, has sold 300,000 copies into bookstores and is in its third printing.
The book is a 40-day journey devised to help strengthen marriages. In the film, the main character’s father challenges him to try to save his failing marriage by taking “The Love Dare,” spending 40 days loving his wife in very specific ways. The effects are so powerful, that in pre-screenings of the film, members of the audiences left asking, ‘How can I get that book?’
"It's a plot device, it's a book, it's a marriage saver, it's a movement," says John Thompson, vice president of marketing for the book's publisher, B&H Publishing Group. "This is the fastest-selling book we've ever handled.
