Pray for America - Day 17
Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. – Psalm 147:1
DAY 17: "From Sea to Shining Sea"
Have you ever flown across the country on a clear day? From 30,000 feet above the earth, you can look down and see the beauty of God’s creation displayed in such majesty and splendor that you will most assuredly want to break forth into spontaneous praise! America, truly God has shed His grace on thee.
In Deuteronomy 10, after receiving the second set of tablets engraved with the Ten Commandments, Moses descended from the mountain and met with the people of Israel. After spending 40 days and nights with the Lord, Moses was ready to deliver God’s message of forgiveness and new direction. His words were powerful as he unfolded the essence of the Law; with renewed hearts, God’s people would fear the Lord, serve Him and remain steadfast. Moses spoke words of confirmation that ring true for us today, affirming that we belong to God and indeed He is our praise! It is He who has done great and awesome things that we can see with our own eyes.
America! God is our praise! May the people of God unite to make a joyful noise—to burst forth with singing, praising Him for His mighty acts and His excellent greatness. Let us together exalt His name forever and show forth the praises of Him. Declare the praises of God by proclaiming the words in Psalm 150. Indeed let everything that hath breath praise the Lord!
