The Final Four in Indianapolis
By Shawn Brown
The Final Four is this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The question on everyone’s mind is, “Who’s going to win it all?” Will it be Tom Izzo’s Mighty Spartans, whose last national championship was a decade ago against Florida? Or could it be Duke’s Mike Krzyewski and his well disciplined Blue Devils? At the other end of spectrum, it could be West Virginia’s time to shine… after all it’s been 51 years. Or, is it time for a Cinderella team to win it all? Can the Butler Bulldogs hang in there just a little longer, even with this being their Final Four debut at home? No matter the champion, this has the makings of a memorable Final Four.
The games start on Saturday night with #5 Michigan State VS. #5 Butler (6:07pm), followed by #1 Duke VS. #2 West Virginia (8:47pm). I’ll be at the stadium catching up with the Christian players from each team. They’ll be featured in a piece on The 700 Club Monday morning. Who do I think is going to take it? The ACC boys in blue… Duke! But I will say, West Virginia is playing really well, and it if they can keep up with Duke’s ability to shoot outside the perimeter, they may be able to advance to the finals. But they’ll have to be consistent, especially after what Duke did to Baylor in the last 5 minutes of the game with their 3-pointer attack lead by Guard Nolan Smith. That’s my prediction. What’s yours?
