A Time of Great Withdrawals

Two dreams could be dying in America and the rest of the Western world; one is the American dream of freedom, the other is the collectivist dream of progressive socialism. 

The spirit of America’s Founders was to spread the power around and to leave individuals free to pursue their own dreams – not be collectivized into sacrificing their life and liberty.

As I cover in my book, The Great Withdrawal: How the Progressives' 100-Year Debasement of America and the Dollar Ends,  these collectivist ideas began to dominate Western civilization more than 100 years ago. In 1913 they took control of the U.S. Government and began a fundamental transformation of our economy, politics, culture and beliefs.

Progressive socialists believe government could (and should) re-make not only the world but also the very nature and society of human beings. They aim to replace Capitalism, private property, individualism and God with a human-made Eden; a utopian humanist society where an all-powerful State would equally redistribute the world’s wealth and power to the working class.

After a century of this gradual infiltration of progressive socialist ideas, what do we have to show for it?

• Stagnant economic growth
• $20 Trillion in “official” government debt (with hundreds of Trillions in obligations upon future generations) * 49% of Americans now receive government benefits
• Major U.S. cities, counties and states are facing bankruptcy
• Citizens are fleeing high-tax, progressive states
• The American dream of property rights, self-sufficiency and a secure future are fading quickly

What can be done to stop this 100-year slide into political and economic chaos?
