Gospel Artist CeCe Winans Talks Life and Faith

LET THEM FALL IN LOVE
Let them Fall in Love is Cece’s first solo release in 9 years. “I still can’t believe that much time went by,” she said. “But within that decade, [my brother] BeBe and I did a project, then my husband and I started a church in Nashville, Tennessee.”  The album earned its title for a simple reason. “When they hear this music I want them to fall in love with Him,” says Cece. “When we fall in love with Him we learn how to love one another.”

Cece’s son Alvin III produced the album. Although the album has a different sound from previous releases, Cece knows the music will appeal to a diverse audience with both the sound and the message. The first single, Never Have to be Alone has a particularly strong message. "One of the things we see a lot of is people dealing with loneliness," she explains. "They deal with depression. They deal with a heavy heart. So I knew it was a song that would touch people where they need to be touched.”

NASHVILLE LIFE CHURCH
Cece and her husband Alvin Love started their Nashville Life Church in early of 2012. She says it was never in her plans to start a church.  The seeds of starting a church were planted when their son asked Cece and Alvin to hold a bible study in their home for a few friends. To their surprise, 20 young people showed up. They hosted a second bible study, and this time, 80 people came.  Cece says it was obvious these people “had a hunger.” Now, five years later, Alvin I and Cece co-pastor Nashville Light Church. With a congregation of about 250 people, the church has a strong millennial base. “We didn’t try to reach them or know they were coming,” said Cece. “They just came.”  Cece and Alvin have helped people find freedom from addictions, save their marriages, and learn forgiveness.”

A HERITAGE IN GOSPEL MUSIC
The Winans are considered “the first family” of Gospel music. CeCe inherited a musical legacy from Mom and Pop Winans.  She was born the eighth of ten children.  Her siblings include famed Gospel quartet The Winans -- brothers Marvin, Carvin, Ronald (now deceased) and Michael -- and brother BeBe.
