Rat Bites at Night

CBN.com —In her home made out of plastic and tree limbs, Eliana, 39, has struggled to provide for her three small children. She earns money by washing people’s clothes by hand. She told us living here wouldn’t be so bad, except for the rats. Sometimes they bite the children while they’re sleeping.

“A rat bit me on my toe, it hurt me a lot!” said nine-year-old Christopher.

“I was afraid to go to sleep because I was afraid the rat would bite me,” added five-year-old Yeri.

The rats often came out at night while the house was completely dark. Eliana couldn’t afford to pay for electricity.

“I’m very afraid of the darkness,” Yeri told us.

“I’m happy for my new house. There are no rats anymore!” said Christopher.

"I really like my house," Yeri chimed in.

Then we had the electricity turned on.
