Never Alone: Jesus Is Praying for You

Have you ever been in so much pain—physical, emotional, or spiritual—that you didn’t know where to turn? The kind of pain that steals your breath and leaves you desperate for relief? That’s where I found myself one season, when pain radiated from my glutes down to my calf like liquid lava coursing through my veins. No position brought comfort. No stretch offered relief.

Even after experiencing unmedicated natural childbirth, I can honestly say I had never felt pain like this before. I didn’t know it yet, but a herniated disc in my lumbar spine was the culprit. I felt powerless and alone, until someone stepped in and began advocating for me when I couldn’t advocate for myself—reminding me of the unshakable truth in Hebrews 7:25: “He lives forever to intercede… on their behalf.”

My chiropractor recommended an MRI, but my primary care physician refused to refer me until I completed twelve weeks of physical therapy. Bent over at the waist, barely able to walk, I knew that wasn’t possible. He also told me I couldn’t afford an MRI out of pocket, claiming it would cost thousands of dollars.

That’s when Tammy, the office manager at my chiropractor’s office, stepped in. She knew the pain I was in and couldn’t stand by. She called every hospital and outpatient center in the area. She left messages, navigated endless transfers, and refused to stop until she found a solution.

By the end of the day, Tammy located a local hospital that offered a generous discount for patients paying cash. She scheduled my MRI for seven o’clock the next morning. It revealed the source of my pain—an 18mm disc herniation causing severe sciatica.

Tammy’s relentless advocacy was a lifeline in my darkest moment. I believe her actions weren’t just compassion at work but a visible sign of Jesus’ love and intercession for me. The timing, the solution, and the provision were all too perfect to be a coincidence. Jesus was working through her, meeting my need when I had no strength to meet it myself. His advocacy wasn’t abstract; it showed up in real time, through real people, orchestrated in ways only He could arrange.

If the persistence of one compassionate person could change the outcome of my situation so dramatically, how much more can Jesus' constant, loving intercession impact our lives? He never grows weary, never misses a detail, and never stops speaking your name before the Father.

Even when we can’t fight for ourselves—whether physically, emotionally, or spiritually—He is at work in ways we can’t always see, ensuring we receive what we truly need.

Today, picture Jesus at the right hand of God, interceding for you at this very moment. Thank Him for one specific way He has carried you, especially in a season when you couldn’t see it at the time. You are not forgotten, you are not forsaken, and you are never without your Advocate.

King Jesus, thank You for living forever and interceding for me. When I feel powerless, alone, or overlooked, remind me that You are always at work on my behalf. Help me trust Your perfect advocacy and rest in the assurance that I am never without Your presence and care. Amen.
