Author and speaker Payge Means Hopper says African Americans have been struggling with the trauma from slavery for far too long. Issues such as contained rage, self-hatred and fear exist in many black communities. In her new book, “Healing the Wounds of American Slavery” she invites both blacks and whites to engage in unguarded conversation to find true freedom by humbling our hearts and by surrendering our lives totally to Jesus Christ.
