Egypt and the World - A Point of View
Greetings all.
Believe me in no way do I purport to have the inside track on the unfolding events taking place now in Egypt. However, a perspective follows for your consideration.
The critical uprising in Egypt and surrounding countries may have taken the United States and other nations by surprise, but none of it blindsided Almighty God.
Chapter 19 of the Old Testament book of Isaiah speaks to many of the crises now occurring in Egypt. Too, various possible historical settings can be applied from the past into the present day, but ultimately these events are controlled by The Lord of Hosts and all pertain to His divine plan.
Scripture speaks to many of the disasters, not just now, but yet to come, including civil war with Egyptians against Egyptians, floods, economic collapse, the helplessness of rulers, etc. And these calamities are not exclusive to Egypt, but the whole world. Yet behind all this, in the big picture, God's final purposes in history will be realized with a collective worshiping people drawn from all nations culminating in Israel's God being recognized as theirs.
"God will wound Egypt, first hit and then heal. Egypt will come back to God, and God will listen to their prayers and heal them, heal them from head to toe." (Isaiah 19)
As much as it seems impossible now, harmony will exist between Assyria, Egypt, and Israel, all will worship the same God, whose temple lies in Jerusalem, making Israel a blessing on earth.
We are admonished to, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!" Everything will culminate there.
"On that Day, (often referring to the time of the Messiah) there will be a highway all the way from Egypt to Assyria: Assyrians will have free range in Egypt and Egyptians in Assyria. No longer rivals, they'll worship together, Egyptians and Assyrians!
24-25On that Day, Israel will take its place alongside Egypt and Assyria, sharing the blessing from the center. God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who blessed Israel, will generously bless them all: "Blessed be Egypt, my people!...Blessed be Assyria, work of my hands!...Blessed be Israel, my heritage!" (Isaiah 19)
Our immediate responsibility is to pray for God's Kingdom (government) to come, and in whatever other way the Lord instructs you to contribute to that end in practical ways.
We also need to recognize that the real battle lies in the heavens and transcends "flesh and blood."
Be assured of this too:
"The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.—“I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.”—We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.—“Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.”—The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials." (Jeremiah 15.21; I John 5.18; Revelation 3.10; 2 Peter 2.9)
As the finer details of these events unfold, it would behoove us as individuals to prayerfully study the Scriptures and be assured that His Kingdom has come, is coming, and will ultimately come to the whole earth.
"Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!"

Scott, thank you for this fine and excellent statement. It is a great encouragment. My heart is very much in Egypt, since I lived there for almost 2-1/2 years and made a number of Egyptian friends. I pray for them to meet Jesus almost daily. If I send some names, would you include them in CBN's prayer "box?"
