Annie Dupre on The Annie Moses Band Christmas Special & more
Annie's Story
Annie is a violinist and vocalist, wife and mother. Named after her great-grandmother, Annie Moses, she was born with a love of singing. Her parents are Bill and Robin Wolaver, award winning composers/songwriters/arrangers with 25 years of experience in the Christian music industry.
At the inspiration of her mother, Annie began violin lessons the week before her fifth birthday. She excelled from a young age, winning many local, state, and national competitions. At the age of 13 she made her debut as a soloist with a professional orchestra. At 15, Annie was accepted as a scholarship student to the pre-college division of the Juilliard School where she was a featured chamber musician and concert mistress of the Juilliard Pre-college Orchestra. In 2001, Annie was accepted as a scholarship student to the collegiate division of the Juilliard School. Juilliard was thrilling and challenging, but she and her siblings (also musicians) felt God’s call in a different direction. They wanted to begin a music group that would combine a spiritual message with musical excellence. They continued their studies while writing, praying, and performing. They considered the name for their band. They wanted to choose a name that would honor and remember their great-grandmother, Annie Moses. “Annie was a hard-working woman,” says Annie. “Her life was one of daily toil and hardship but God blessed her because of her faithfulness.” She gave birth to three children and the middle child, Jane, married a missionary who had four children. Robin, Annie’s mother, is Jane’s daughter.
Annie's love for singing and the joy of making music with her siblings led her, alongside her family, to found the Annie Moses Band (AMB) in 2002. To date, AMB has recorded more than a dozen albums, produced Telly-nominated PBS specials, traveled to Europe and Asia, and performed on stages as diverse as Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry. The band is touring this holiday season in the following areas: Tennesse, Ohio, Texas, Georgia and South Carolina. Annie considers each opportunity to perform and create with her family to be a great gift.
In addition to performing, the Annie Moses Band is pursuing an ambitious mission through their foundation (Annie Moses Foundation) to transform the world of the arts for the glory of God. For decades, a void has been growing in the social fabric of the West. Education is increasingly atheistic and politicized, while the world of music, television, and film promotes destructive messages that poison the hearts of our families. The world needs truth. The Annie Moses Foundation is helping to accomplish this mission by offering exceptional arts programs that equip young musicians to not only perform but create new artistry with excellence and by producing original content, both musical and visual, that reflects the beauty of our Creator and enriches the lives of His people.
