Chances are, you need to lose weight. I say this because most Americans are either overweight or obese. A large portion of people who need to lose weight are diabetic, regardless of whether they've been diagnosed.

No Mitt Romney and no Barack Obama at this year’s Saddleback Civil Forum. Rick Warren has canceled the event.

Why? Because he says both campaigns are being way too uncivil! The event would have been a chance for both candidates to discuss how their faith shapes their lives and views on public policy.

Rick Warren says the following:

Is the Obama campaign ready to go after Mitt Romney's Mormon faith by starting a stealth "education" effort with the evangelical community?

That's what author Ed Klein says. Watch here with Lou Dobbs. The Brody File is looking into this.

Have a look below at my conversation today on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell about the Todd Akin controversy and what it could mean for Mitt Romney's campaign.

Poor Mitt Romney. All he ever wanted to do was talk about the economy 24/7 from now until Election Day. Instead, he has to deal with the issue of abortion, a toxic topic he so desperately wanted to avoid throughout this campaign.

Well, the good news is that he made it all the way to August without it being a distraction; the bad news is that voters go to the polls in November!

Dr. Tawfik Hamid knows the enemy of radical Islam firsthand. As a young man, he was a follower of Islamist ideology and rubbed shoulders with the likes of Ayman al-Zawahiri.

A native of Egypt, Dr. Hamid has since left the world of Islamism behind and is author of the book, Inside Jihad.

He is a leading authority on the Muslim Brotherhood, al Qaeda, and the global Islamist movement.

As I ate breakfast with my three-year-old son this morning, I could not help but be amused by the conversation. It was all about frogs. His childlike wonder for his favorite reptile gets him so riled up that he talks fast and excitedly about them. You can tell that he has some major passion for this amphibian. Because of the twinkle in his eyes and his excited voice I cannot help but grin as he talks. This is the beauty of having passion for something; it draws others in.

Everyone loves to see a couple who cares deeply and passionately for each other. The couple is filled with such eager anticipation of years together in emotional bliss. Feeling so attached to one another, neither expect there to be times of emotional crisis. Yet, in most relationships there will be emotional wounds, and sometimes worse, that must be dealt with effectively.

Maybe Todd Akin should run for president of the United States because he clearly has the power to bring liberals and conservatives together.

Todd Akin is staying in the Missouri Senate race…for now. You get the sense that the GOP drumbeat will be too much at some point to where he will have to get out. The money may dry up and his supporters may, too. His poll numbers may start to dip too low as well.

But for now, he’s staying in and getting some support from the Family Research Council. Here is the statement just put out by their president Tony Perkins:

Todd Akin has just entered the fray of the national political discussion…and not in the way he would have hoped.

The Missouri Senate candidate, who is trying to defeat Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill this fall, sure stepped in it when he was asked if abortion should still be illegal even in cases of rape.

Akin said the following:

“First of all, from what I understand from doctors [pregnancy from rape] is really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”
