Looking for Omegas in All the Right Places
I'm providing some brief additional information about the experts in the omega-3 story as well as some of the omega-3 products shown in the story.
THE EXPERTS
Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D. "First Lady of Nutrition"
Author of many health books, the most recent being The Gut Flush Plan
Joseph Maroon, MD. Leading Neurosurgeon.
Co-author with Jeffrey Bost of Fish Oil: The Natural Anti-Inflammatory
PRODUCTS
These are a sampling of some of the best omega-3 products on the market. However, there are many other good products on the market. The bottom line is that you have to do your own research; these companies are good places to start.
A number of products from four of these companies have been shown periodically over the last 10 years: Carlson, Enzymatic Therapy, Nordic Naturals, and Nutrition Now. Minami and VitalRemedyMD products are new to CBN News stories. In alphabetical order:
Carlson Labs
Wide variety of selections
This family-owned company has many different supplements, but has many omega-3 products -- for mothers, for instance, and in chewable, liquid, and capsule forms.
Enzymatic Therapy
Eskimo-3
Enzymatic has a very extensive line of supplements -- among them is their Eskimo-3 line in capsules and in flavored liquids. Products originate in Sweden.
Minami Nutrition
Multiple selections emphasizing EPA or DHA
The company has other products, but omega-3s are a particular specialty. Their products are purified by a CO2 process which they consider superior to the standard molecular distillation.
Nordic Naturals
Wide variety of selections
All products come from Norway. There are products for pregnant women as well as for pets who also need these necessary oils.
L'ilCritters Omega-3 Gummy Fish
This product is primarily designed for children. Rather than use an animal source, the company has selected a plant source, chia seed extract.
VitalOils1000
Currently the only product that has the daily amount for cardiovascular health in one capsule. This company was founded by Seth Baum, M.D., a cardiologist in Florida.
