Brody File Exclusive: Ted Cruz Says He Will Turn Other Cheek to Personal Attacks
In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Sen. Ted Cruz says the vicious attacks against him are a tactic to keep the focus off President Obama’s disastrous policies.
“One of the strategies that those who defend Obamacare have pursued is a very deliberate strategy: it’s to change the topic and their favorite way to do it is to launch personal attacks, nasty attacks because they know that the press loves to cover this like their Hollywood gossip columnist; ‘This politician attacking this politician, who’s up, who’s down’ and they ignore all the substance," he said. "And I will tell you, David, my approach despite all the personal attacks is that I have not reciprocated, I have not responded in kind and I don’t intend to.”

David Brody: You have a target on your back from not just the White House and Democrats but yes, some Republicans as well. What is your message to the people within your own party that are coming after you?
Sen. Ted Cruz: Look, David at the end of the day this is not about any of us. This is not about personalities. And I will tell you, David, my approach despite all the personal attacks is that I have not reciprocated, I have not responded in kind and I don’t intend to. I don’t intend to defend myself. Now I will say to all of your viewers that I am so appreciative for all the prayers, all the encouragement, all the support, the support we felt back in Texas and across the country has been overwhelming and it means a great deal.
