The Brody File

Exclusive: Luke Russert: "I no doubt will see my father again someday”

On an interview you’ll only see on The Brody File, NBC News Reporter Luke Russert talks about how working hard after his father’s death helped him through the grieving process. “It would allow me not to sit around and grieve all day and ask God why. Russert tells me. “ It would allow me the opportunity to go out and live life which I think is ultimately important which you learn from scripture. Religion allows you to grieve and it’s a great, great outlet for trying to have faith in believing where the ones who came before you have gone God willing to a better place but it’s also very instructive that it’s part of life.”

As for seeing his father in eternity, former NBC Meet The Press Host Tim Russert, the younger Russert says, ““If you believe I think to some degree you don’t worry too much about that at the end of the day because you feel you’re going to a better place and a place where I no doubt will see my father again someday.”

Russert was a guest on this week’s Brody File Show.

Luke Russert: "When the opportunity to work at NBC was presented to me, I knew I was going to face backlash. I knew that there would be charges of nepotism and folks saying what you got was not earned but I also felt in my heart of hearts and after I prayed about it for some time that I could make a difference that this was to some degree my calling at least at that time that I not only could continue my father’s message of trying to report on what’s important and getting the answers that are the most beneficial to the American public but also for myself it would allow me to meet all different types of people that I would have never been exposed to before .”
