Have you had enough of the Palin bashing?

I've heard more than one person say over the last couple of days they've been tempted to throw their shoe or any other hard object they can find through their TV sets. Folks are genuinely upset with the mainstream media's treatment of John McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin.

I asked Dr. Charles Dunn, Dean of the Regent University School of Government, if he thought the treatment was fair. He responded with two questions:

"Have the media devoted the same resources and personnel to investigate Obama and his track record in Illinois with a known terrorist and his voting record in the Illinois Senate?Have they devoted the same resources to Senator Biden with regard to some of the family problems he's had? Obviously they have not. So, clearly the media are taking on Governor Palin in a way that's unfair to her and on issues that may come back to haunt them."

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay echoes the sentiment. Speaking on a Politico/Yahoo/Pioneer Press panel in St.Paul, Minnesota, Wednesday morning, DeLay took a sarcastic jab at reporters by telling them, "please, media, keep it up."

He added, "The media has done more for John McCain in the last two days than he's done for himself in the last year and a half. Trashing her is waking up the sleeping giant, and the sleeping giant is Republican women."

Keep that in mind the next time you feel the urge to hurl something towards your TV set. Believe me, I've felt the same way a couple of times this week. We should simply turn it off for awhile and soak in the truth and comfort of God's Word. Psalm 2 is a good place to start.
